In less than a week, National Novel Writing Month will be upon us and I am beyond ready for that to get started. I’ve been chomping at the bit to start the next installment of my story. While the last book I had been thinking over for some time, this one is completely new. I have no idea where it is going and I think that is the best part.
I am hoping that I will get to update here every few days, even if it’s only a few words. Mostly because I want to encourage others to keep going but I also want to hold myself accountable for writing. Especially because the first few days of November I am going to be swamped with work. Yeah, I’m out of town from the 1st to the 4th and will be working nearly all day.
That means I am going to have to be smart about my progress and work to make up any missed word counts on those first few days. That’s where the fun is going to be also. The added pressure and thriving under those conditions will hopefully push me to dive into the story and test my productivity. The minutes spent working on the word count will have to be focused. No more procrastinating.
Then I’ll be managing school, work, and writing. I’m looking forward to the challenge. I’ve stocked up on all the junk food, all the snacks, and all the caffeine. Who’s ready for November??
