I’ve been MIA for the last month for a good reason. Well, I think it’s a good reason, still TBD.

Most of my time has been spent working on school and work and my writing time has decreased significantly. I expected that, though. Spring is always more busy than Fall and Winter so I was prepared.

Here’s the thing about me. I HATE not having strict plans about the future; even just a few days down the road. It drives me nuts that my professor posts things a day after he says he will. I hate not having a set by set outline of my next month, let alone week.

So, being a crazy planner (surprising since I’m a pantser when it comes to writing), I started to freak out about the future.

There are a few things I turned to in this crazy time:

  1. Reading
    • I started to pick up any book I could about people finding their way and how they came across their career paths
  2. Values
    • I love learning and I love adventure. How can I apply these things to my career path?
  3. Actions
    • After mind mapping the crap out of my brain, I decided to take initiative and reach out to some people about their careers and their professions. Currently, I have one conversation set up and I’m waiting to hear back from a few more.

What did all of this lead me to? Another action. I applied for an MFA and will wait for a decision of entry. Will I get in? No idea. Is it something different? Absolutely. Will it change my perspective on life? I really hope so.

Here’s to new things and seeing what comes next.

I'm that 26 year old who has no idea what she wants to do in life. This blog is the brain child of someone who wanted a complete lifestyle change so I got rid of all of my excess stuff and wrote a novel in 10 days. Let's see what other crazy stuff I can do.
